Day of the Dead Celebration

Celebrated on November 1st-2nd, Day of the Dead is a celebration of life. By welcoming the spirits of ancestors and loved ones home and honoring them through "ofrendas" or offerings that represent the elements - earth (food like Pan De Muerto), wind (papel picado or traditional cut paper banners), fire (candles to help spirits find their way) and water (so loved ones can quench their thirst after a long journey).

  • Pop-up with candle maker Candle&Cauldron

  • Drinks and snacks - Midnight Margaritas and Pan de Muerto (Mexican sweet bread)

  • Letterpress a print inspired by "papel picado" or cut paper - the traditional, colorful Mexican banners that are used to decorate an altar to honor ancestors and loved ones. These can be strung up to make banners, used as decoration or mailed as a card.

  • Make paper Cempazuchitl flowers, or marigolds traditionally used to attract and welcome spirits.
